For sign installers
- You set your own net rate. Signborn offers a suggestion at most and never imposes a rate.
- You pay nothing for matching. The client pays the Signborn fee.
- No exclusivity, no non-compete clause, no penalty clause. You're free to do business outside Signborn with anyone you like.
- You can turn down any job. Declining doesn't count towards your Trust Score; cancelling after you've accepted and not turning up do.
- You work under your own KvK registration, with your own public liability insurance and your own tools. Signborn is not an insurer. Signborn records the end date of your policy and reminds you 30 and 7 days ahead. After that date you can respond again once your new policy is approved.
- You do your own invoicing. The draft invoice is ready and pre-filled with your hours and costs; you check it and send it.
For clients
- With a Signborn match you see the sign installer's rate plus the Signborn fee up front: 8%, minimum €15 and maximum €150 per sign installer per job. Materials, parking and tolls the installer passes on do not count. That fee comes on a separate invoice of its own.
- Sign installers you invite and already worked with before your first contact through Signborn are in your own network. You pay nothing for them. If you got to know someone through Signborn, the match rate applies for the first twelve months.
- When you post a job, you choose a payment term of 14 or 30 days. Longer than 30 days isn't possible.
- After handover you have 48 hours to approve or object. If you don't respond, the system then approves automatically.
- You pay the sign installer directly to their IBAN. No money runs through Signborn.
- If within twelve months you give a job outside the platform to a sign installer you met here, the intermediary fee is still due.
- A KvK number, address and VAT number are required to publish a job. You can sign up without them.
How matching ranks
Who appears at the top for a job is decided by seven factors, each with a fixed weight. Hard requirements also apply. Only approved sign installers with valid public liability insurance are eligible. If a required certificate is missing or the job is outside the working radius, there's no match.

New sign installers get a small, temporary head start until their first completed job. If you start a job from a specific sign installer, that installer gets priority. Trust Score counts within “Reputation” and never excludes anyone. Urgent jobs appear at the top of the installer's job list; they do not count in the ranking of candidates. In the list of responses, signmakers from your own network are shown first. Other signmakers do not see a job meant only for your own network.
What Signborn is not
- Not an employer and not a staffing agency. The agreement for the job is between the client and the sign installer.
- Not an insurer. Every sign installer must have their own public liability insurance with care, custody and control cover. Signborn checks the policy document and its end date.
- Not a payment service provider. Signborn holds no money.
- Not a party to carrying out the work. Signborn doesn't decide how, when or in what order the work is done.
Contact and reporting illegal content
Our point of contact for users and authorities is hello@signborn.com. You can write to us in Dutch or English.
Do you see something on Signborn that you believe is illegal, such as a message, photo or profile? Report it to us. Tell us what content it is, where it is (the link) and why you believe it is illegal. Add your name and email address. We will let you know what we do with it.
We check messages in the chat and the lounge partly automatically, including with AI. We check whether someone shares contact details before a confirmed job and whether a message is inappropriate. A decision about your account is always taken by a person. If we remove something of yours or restrict your account, you get the reason and you can object.
