Signborn rate index

What self-employed sign installers actually charged on completed jobs through Signborn. Method v1 · reference month - · only cells with at least 10 observations.

Index in progress

We calculate the rate index every month from completed jobs. A figure only appears once a combination of specialism and region has at least 10 observations. That way no rate can be traced back to a single job or installer. Until then, the indication above applies.

How the index is calculated

  • Source: completed jobs from the past 12 months. We divide the installer's net earnings by the number of hours, excl. VAT.
  • Test accounts, jobs without hours or an amount, and outliers outside €15 to €250 per hour are left out.
  • We only show p25, median and p75 when a cell has at least 10 observations. Below that, we show nothing.
  • Signborn does not impose a rate. The index describes what self-employed sign installers charged themselves. Every installer sets their own rate.

What determines the rate?

Specialisation
Vehicle wraps and electrical work call for more certification and experience than standard lettering.
Region
Rates in the Randstad are usually higher than in the north and east.
Rush jobs and weekends
For jobs within 48 hours or at the weekend, installers usually add a surcharge.
Travel time and equipment
Travel costs, a cherry picker and own tools come on top of the hourly rate.

For agencies: what do you see on Signborn?

You pay the installer's net rate plus the Signborn fee. The fee is 8% for a match (minimum €15, maximum €150 per installer). With your own network there is no fee. You see the fee upfront and get it on a separate invoice, with no subscription. You only pay once you've approved the handover, directly to the installer, within 14 or 30 days.

For sign installers: you set your rate

You set your own net hourly rate and get paid it in full. The client pays the Signborn fee.
